So from time to time I’m going to hijack my own blog in a blatant effort to gain a little more exposure for the National Three Peaks Challenge event that I will be taking part in May.
Our teams’ chosen charity is the Nathan Timothy Foundation, the number 1 charity in the world dedicated to the empowerment of youth, addressing the emotional health and wellbeing of children using songwriting and music technology.
The money raised for ‘Project K.’ will fund a series of songwriting workshops throughout July in schools in Cardiff followed by a celebratory concert for all the children involved, their parents and families – all in honour of Kate Johnson (sister of Nathan Timothy – The Songwriting Charity’s CEO) who sadly passed away in July 2012.
Well, it’s been a long time since I covered big distances in the mountains, so todays training found me climbing the face of the Blorenge in Abergavenny, it’s not a monster in terms of height, but it’s a steep climb and currently covered in up to three feet snow drifts.
If it wasn’t for the low, snow filled cloud and freezing temperatures you’d be blessed with amazing views. Instead, it’s just me and the occasional black rock for shelter.
I’d love for you to get involved with us and help make a massive difference to the lives of children. Please take a minute to follow the link and help us achieve our goal. You’ll also have the added pleasure of seeing me drag myself up more mountains!
